Glasses were raised for charity at the third annual Oktoberfest at The Community Chest on October 18 at the Englewood Field Club in Englewood, New Jersey. The event kicked off the organization’s annual campaign and raised $30,000.

“Oktoberfest at The Community Chest was a success. People throughout the community came together to support The Chest and raise funds that provide social, cultural, recreational, and educational services to residents of all ages in eastern Bergen County. This festive occasion kicked-off our 2018-2019 annual campaign to provide grants to nonprofits respond to needs in the community,” said Dr. Shelly Wimpfheimer, Executive Director, The Community Chest.

Guests enjoyed a great selection of craft beers sponsored by The Alementary Brewing Co., a light dinner and delicious fare prepared in Bavarian style, and specially made gingerbread cookies. A live auction offered culinary and other opportunities, a raffle, and prizes. A special feature in this year’s Oktoberfest was the addition of a wine pull. Everyone who purchased a wine pull ticket won a bottle of wine.

Sponsors for the celebration were: Alementary Brewing Co., Antin Ehrlich Epstein, LLP, April Uram, Bank of New Jersey, Barbara Strauss and Tom Manolio, Berkley Luxury Group, Broadway Kitchens and Bath, Deco Tech, Dr. and Mrs. Burton A. Scheri, Englewood Health, Fort Lee Racquet Club, James and Kathy Scott, Joe and Judy Klyde, and Justin and Shelly Wimpfheimer. Joining these supporters were Lakeland Bank, Parkway Toyota, Richard and Shawn Kennedy, Ridgeco Builders, Robert Wilkens Insurance Agency, Romer Debbas, LLP, Valley National Bank, Vergona Crane, Wolfgang’s, Inc., York International, Zimick Bros. Cleaning Service, and Zimick Electric.
