LEWIS CENTER, OH (WCMH)– This year will mark the third time Lewis Center resident Jason Homorody has ran the Boston Marathon, but this time, he’s already won a battle before he hits the streets of Beantown for the iconic race.
Last summer, after finding out his wife Stephanie had breast cancer, he made the decision to run this year with a fundraising goal in mind. His biggest hurdle? Raising the marathon’s minimum of $5,000 to qualify for charity — or so he thought. The initial funding was raised almost immediately and has not slowed down.
The biggest victory of all is expected later this year when doctors expect Stephanie to be cancer free.
